Ascania GC has modernized the ultrasound machine at O.O. Shalimov National Institute of Transplant Surgery NAMSU that will allow doctors to more professionally examine the hearts of patients.

Olexandr Usenko, director of the Institute considers that this modernization brought the Institute closer to the level of the leading international clinics: “Until today ultrasound machine gave opportunity to study the organs of the abdominal and pelvic cavities, but it was impossible to examine the heart in detail,” said Olexandr Usenko, – thanks to the innovative program now we can assess the segmental function of the heart muscle, calculate the ejection fraction of the left ventricle, measure all possible sizes of the left atrium and ventricle, assess the parameters of the right atrium and ventricle, assess the condition of the pulmonary artery and its branches, measure the pressure in the pulmonary artery and the left ventricular outflow tract. Thanks to this machine doctor has opportunity to instantly examine critically ill patients in intensive care unit and timely help those, who cannot be transported. Also, the ultrasound machine allows immediately to diagnose cardiac tamponade, pulmonary embolism and perform a pericardial puncture under visual control,” – said the director of the Institute.
